NEW ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE NEW YEAR

07/02/2011

This year's new music was prompted by my needing to source the Nat King Cole arrangement of 'Let There Be Love' for a wedding in February.

That done I looked at what else was on offer and was rather excited to find Michael Bublé's 'It Had Better Be Tonight' - an up-tempo latin number that had eluded me for a few years.

For a bit of fun I've also added 'Swingin' On A Star' - 'or would you rather be a pig?!' etc......

Finally the newest festive tune to be aired at the Christmas Balls later in the year will be the Andy Williams classic 'It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year'.

Hope to see you along the way in 2011 to sample all the latest material.

NEW MUSIC

Each new year brings a few new arrangements to the Mr Swing folder.

This year we've added two Michael Bublé tunes. The latin-style 'Save the last dance for me' and his big band version of 'For once in my life' which will work well as a closer to the first set.

I felt we needed another vocal waltz and have chosen one of Frank Sinatra's favourites, 'Around the World'.

Mr Swing's been asked to play 'My funny valentine' for a wedding in May and I've found a Jerry Nowak swing arrangement.

Finally, another 'end of the evening party sing-a-long' - the ever-popular Sammy Davis Jr crooned 'Candy Man'.

"The Candy Man can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the World taste good........"
